Just because a minority of servers run D2 24/7 doesn't diminish the quality of other maps and game modes.
VIP maps and hostage maps like assault and Italy are a great time. Nobody can cheat any more since VAC was introduced and it was never a big problem at LAN parties or serious online play like CAL. |

AW is kinda like a puzzle game where there's a CR way to beat a chapter and the fun is finding it. Meanwhile in FE even once you beat the game there's all sorts of extra fun stuff you can try. Play without restarts, without pre-promotes, with zero-percent growths, use as few turns as possible, etc. Good FE games are just incredibly deep and versatile. It will take hours before you're even dash flipping somewhat properly, and many many more before you're reliably flying up to beat your opponent to a ball fifty feet in the air. And there's much more to it.
