advantages to this: good cash, flexible hours, you can probably just work 20 hours a week and make a decent living.
disadvantages: you will likely be treated like shit and even if you are not, the work will be boring as fuck. |

I know plenty of people who graduated below median at T25 ITE circa 2009-11 that couldn't find shit for the first 6 months and were legit depressed. All of them eventually found something and several are in pretty good positions now. How did they do it? I'm not sure but it wasn't the Biglaw route. The job market is much better these days so maybe look for contract administrator type work, doc review, law clerk for a state court judge or prosecutor, public defender, find some shitlaw office that'll pay you shit but give you experience, look for govt work at Fed, State and local level, gotta get creative with your search. |

Date: September 4th, 2017 10:51 PM Author: Lavender spectacular rigor halford you can still make it in shitlaw. go be a prosecutor in some rural jurisdiction where nobody wants to work. you'll get trial experience and can then go join the defense bar or just be a bitch prosecutor making $90K a year at peak earning. some prosecutors transition into other stuff pretty well. but your only chance to be valuable and hirable is a skilled 'courtroom' attorney.
nobody is going to give you a good job based on your current credentials. |

I have been an exemplary employee, and I have used CSLG principles to create referral sources for myself that have paid big dividends. I am going to leave this firm soon, mainly because I just don't feel cut out for being an employee or even a partner. I know I can do better for myself and hopefully soon-to-be family as a solo practitioner.
I invested in LINK, SOL and FTM early enough along to where I have a cushion of money that will last me several months while I'm getting started (not that I think I will need it).
I'm happy. I am not defined by law school. I am who I am, and I like who I am. Can't wait to see what the future holds. I think I will probably practice law for 15 or so more years, and then I will take cases rarely and live off of investments after that while chasing good weather. |

The network of doctors is standard, but the business card strategy is great because yes it gets you clients, but it also shows that you are a hustler, and people will want to work with you when they get that impression. I will be able to do commercial litigation with the connections I've made because businessmen recognize when someone is driven, and that's who they want to work with.
