Long story short is my wife and I met him and his family at a seaside restaurant in Croatia. We had a wonderful drunk lunch, the captain of his 100'+ yacht came over and had a drink with us. We exchanged names and numbers and agreed to keep in touch. Indeed it was such a great time that "work" did not come up for either one of us but I know for certain that he does work. Here are some clues...
- is from WYOMING (that has to narrow it down a lot, huh?) - is insanely rich (looked up his boat and something used and similar just sold for $15MM - I know it is his boat because he said so and it is named it after his daughter) - keeps an apartment on the UES in MFH (one of toughest co-ops to get into on Park Avenue - RE Sales bro friend of mine says almost every unit in the building is an insane duplex) - has four kids under the age of 10 - very white, Anglo last name - NOTHING comes up when I Google him or his family's name except for: 1) a number of LLCs registered in various states 2) a 30 year old local newspaper article about donation his parents made to local school (not in WYOMING, but not far) and, here's the best one, 3) millions (actually low 7 figures) in donations to both Democrats and Republicans in Congress from his family dating back to the 80s and, get this, they all seem to have been on Agriculture committees...
What on earth does this guy do? Searched every database I could get my hands on and could find nothing besides random LLCs.

This (and Florida) are common tax dodges for wealthy New Yorkers, as you can avoid the horrendous local income tax in NYC. But it's not really possible if you have kids unless you engage in trickery like owning a third home in northern NJ (commuting distance from your kids' private schools) so you can claim you still spend more time in WY/FL than any single other state. Or send your kid to boarding school as soon as possible. (Schools like Rumsey Hall will accept them as early as 5th grade.)
