Wife just found out when my mom was talking to my daughter that my parents were coming.
I am at work, so she is on IM just FLIPPING THE FUK OUT AT ME. Not looking forward to going home.

You then should put it into a shared calendar you both have access to. (Which, even if you forgot to discuss with your wife, would have tipped her off, and which--even if she forgot--would let you say "BUT IT WAS ON THE CALENDAR AND YOU ACCEPTED!".) I'm pretty surprised you made it to having multiple kids without learning this. But I agree your wife going ballistic isn't appropriate given that your family is out of town and you didn't have any other plans.
