I like Point Loma you get more for the money there and there's some nice neighborhoods, plus it's more central to everything |

for 400~500K you can easily afford a 2M home which should get you a good sized (4BR on a 5000 sq.ft plot) home in any neighborhood you desire
if you depend on public schools stay in carmel valley, del mar, encinitas, carlsbad (west of 5) |
