i'm a big fan of pausing. you change the pace of the game. of course, if you want a fast break game, that's different. but if you are being deposed, you usually want to send a signal that "this will be glacial no matter what you do."
if the best single word answer is "no," but you don't like the lingering inference, you can take the admitted core of the quesiton and add a no at the end. if the question is "did you even bother to ask her what had occurred," and the answer is that you didn't but there's a good reason why you didn't, just say, "i did not ask her what had happened, no." |

liability was heavily disputed. the shitlawyer who deposed me just pinned my story down. he didnt even try to do anything to discredit my story. no "just admit you're totally full of shit" or any of that.
the biggest issue in my case was medical and injuries, and there's not much that my testimony was good for other than to say that he didn't claim injury or call an amb at the scene, and he said he was fine.
most controversial moment was when the shitlawyer started asking me about my own insurance company's initial decision to hold me 100% liable before i told my side of the story and they eventually decided it was 50/50, and my lawyer claimed ACP and instructed me not to answer any questions about that. |
