He died of a benzo/painkiller overdose. Rappers now are sad and they don't know why. A lot of the music now is slowed down and babbling style, akin to what it's like being high on Xanax. Xanax is glorified now by rappers like alcohol and crack used to be, and now as opposed to mainly selling it as a path out of poverty, they're singing about using drugs to escape reality and pain. Says a lot about the current culture.
RIP lil Peep.

cr,
lil xanny, lil pump, all of them prominently display lean/pill use in their videos and music. it's just an expression of the reality we live in. it's very sad and makes me irate that as a generation we've come to this.

you think ppl are reacting emotionally to mozart rn and not lil peep? people are having their first sexual experiences, going through their first depressive episode...having some of the most intense emotional experiences the human condition is capable of experiencing, with lil peep fueling it.
millions of people go to see the mona lisa....to snap photos of it. if i hooked up their brains to a machine, and measured the amount of stimulation viewing the mona lisa gave them i am willing to bet it would be flatlined. yet people will say the mona lisa is ...

LOL at the threadjacking job you did here, brother. Really impressive work.
Say, what do you think Miles Davis would have to say about the role of IP and copyright law in sample-based music? Or rock music generally for that matter? If I were to tell him that no sample-based music will ever come close to what was possible in terms of both sonics and levels of cultural/contextual meaning prior to the The Turtles case, how do you think he would respond? Bc I can assure that the Puffyocracy that followed the late 80s was a GIGANTIC step backward in hip hop that has never been fully recovered, although it did result in a more intense focus on lyricists as the central artists in the genre.
P.S. Note that these boomer fags are still at it in recent years: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/turtles-lead-whopping-100-million-598746

Ljl havent listened to him at all.
With foreign genres it is hard at first. Have to listen to their most pop songs. Then if you can find a pop song that strings you in you will eventually sort of flow their body of work.
I didny like david bowie at first either...

with you, OP, but Major Lazer is fun as fuck to see live. One of my favorite DJ shows of any group. THey fucking bring it every time.
Last time I saw them was last summer at Bonnarroo. Crowd was all Gen Z types, but the group was going insane. Got tired of hearing those "party time" fog horn sound effects every 3 minutes though, and the strobe lights were tiring after a while.

OP, this Lil Pump song is actually growing on me a little
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LfJnj66HVQ
then again, I like shit like Migos (drugged up lean trap genre or whatever its called), and these white boy gen z posers are blatantly ripping them off, but this one song is ok (but the lyrics are idiotic)

Flattered.
Would you agree with this statement: there is no grounds to prefer Mozart over Lil Peep other than being a try hard resistant to new innovation?
Would you agree with this statement: saying Shakespeare is a superior writer to JK Rowling is entirely unjustified by anything other than personal preference

For 99% of youth that is the case. It is nearly impossible that they will be more receptive to mozart than lil peep. It is possible that mozart provides greater highs that can only be reached by having stretched your ear wide enough that his sounds can enter...but idk... and the genre itself is dead....that i do know.
Alot of the problems with contemp pop existed back then too branding patronage in crowds etc...tolstoy talks aboit this...if i released a batch of songs and said it is newly discovered mozart but it was in fact a college band directors personal shit ...who styles his music after mozart...im writing too much already but that should be enough
This is a given brother. Objective truth is not even clear in science, einstein demonstrated this 80 years ago! That being said I BELIEVE THAT SUCH A DISTINCTION EXISTS AND I WILL TO EXIST AND I WILL TEACH TO OTHERS THAT IT EXISTS AND I WILL DEFEND IT AND ENJOY IT AND LOVE IT
