Removing SALT is 180

Dunno about the other stuff but that part is so good doubt the rest could be bad enough to oppose (although, ofc, who cares)

Lib here. I’d rather keep the estate tax and get rid of that faggot carried interest loophole, but otherwise I’m actually on board with it.

Yes and no. Happy to see SALT removed. Stop subsidizing shitlib state programs and see how they like their spending then. Taxing tuition credits is 120. Not looking forward to our STEM system, which is the best in the world, go down the tubes as all the smart people start getting their PhDs in Europe bc an American PhD is unaffordable.

I personally think estate tax should be very high. Kids shouldn't inherit that kind of wealth. They didn't earn it.

no AMT and no SALT = 180

taxing education credits is dumb but I like the idea of universiTTTies getting pwned

I will keep a lot of my oil and gas and investment real estate deductions so that's also 180

Fucking loathe it.

FIFO is an under-discussed abortion of a provision. As is estate repeal while retaining the step-up on det.

Pass through is utter nonsense that will line tax practitioners pockets.

SALT and home mortgage repeal is targeted at blue states but hits many conservatives stuck in those states.

Couple those with the fact that retirement savings incentives were ever even on the table, and you can see the bill for what it really is. Yet another naked cash grab by the boomers. JCT should really give us an intergenerational distribution analysis to go with their one by income

I'm getting fucked royally by salt repeal in both taxes and likely loss of home value. I understand why people don't like it but it's been the rule for 150 years so it's been priced into people's choices of where to live, work and buy homes. If we were starting from scratch I could see going without it but at this point it's just politically convenient and a huge hit to hardworking people who've reasonably relied on the rule. They could have just capped all deductions or given a higher salt cap rather than striking it all. It's not like the people taking the deduct are benefiting much from state spending either. If they cut this why not cut other deducts? I'd like to stop subsidizing Romney's tithing or some billionaire building a new wing for his pet project museum.

They could have shrunk their state governments but they invited niggers in and wanted to be cool shitliberals. Now they pay (hopefully)

People near me are relatively conservative. The reason we pay high local property tax is to get away from the shit cities and we've paid house prices that reflect deductibility so there's no past windfall. The people taking the deduction are hardworking professionals who don't benefit from state spending and didn't vote for it. We're being squeezed by the libs and now we're getting fucked by conservatives. There are plenty of inefficient or unfair deductions. Why not just cap them all at like 100k, as Trump suggested during the election.

opposed but not because of any of the personal provisions. it fucks with a couple things related to my jerb which will make it a lil harder to get $$$. no idea how all the individual provisions will affect my tax bill

The new tax plan is bullshit because by eliminating personal exemptions you fuck over families with 2 or more children. Childcare already costs a fucking fortune and this just makes it worse.
