Alabama: IN
Georgia: 2-loss NON conference champ, LOL OUT
Miami: IN
Oklahoma: IN
Clemson: 2-loss NON conference champ, LOL OUT
Auburn: 3-losses, LOL OUT
Assuming the Buckeyes can win out they have to worry about Auburn winning the Iron Bowl and the SEC sending Champ + Bama and to a lesser degree Bama losing to UGA in the SECCG but both teams still going (less likely)
The other possibly problematic scenario is Clemson beating Miami and the committee deciding between 1-loss Miami with no conf title vs. 2-loss Ohio State with conf title. I think even in this scenario with the B1G East being maybe the toughest division in football, 2 top-10 wins and the name recognition, $ and added value they give to conference titles the Bucks still go. |

Ohio State OTOH has two blowout losses (by 18 points and 31 points), one of them a 55-24 ass kicking by unranked Iowa. Ohio State also couldn't even manage to score a field goal in the playoff last year with mostly the same personnel. They followed that "effort" up with two blowout losses this year. They've done nothing to earn a return trip. Among 2-loss teams, even Notre Dame has a better argument to be in the playoff than Ohio State. So does USC. If Bama and OU win out, Clemson beats Miami soundly, and tOSU beats Michigan soundly and Wisconsin, I think tOSU squeaks past Miami and grabs the 4 spot.
Bama losing a close Iron Bowl or SECCG probably keeps out tOSU. |
