So I know a guy whose set on going to LS (who isn't capable of being talked out of it). He got a full ride at Pace. Is looking at some money (I think less than half tuition) at Cardozo and BLS. But has gotten sticker at Fordham.
He says he is basically is looking at either Pace or Fordham. Asking me whether I think Fordham is worth it.
He wants to work for like whatever law firm pays six figures. He isn't looking for anything special he says. Just a decent job in law.
Anyone know about the outcomes of TTTs/probability/things this guy can do to increase his chances?
He's thinking of going into IP litigation as he has a science undergrad degree (he went to undergrad with me but he didn't get good grades). Anyone know about this? He says its easier to get than other areas of law and that he doesn't need to go to a 'super great' law school to get in.
I know a post like this is begging for bashing/flame calling/etc but for the legitimate interest I have in answering this guy honestly try to post serious replies or at least be creative.

Figured. That’s too bad. Prosecution is probably out which would be a 180 back up.
Fordham makes sense if your parents are rich or you have something to fall back on.
Thing is, he’ll be outmatched at Fordham. It’s the best school he got into, right? Which means he’s up against people who took full rides there but got into better schools. And you need to be in the top echelon to get a good job from Fordham. At pace, he’s the one eyed man in the land of the blind. He might crush it and get biglaw but even if he doesn’t, his debt is minimal and he’ll do far better than 30k. Shit, doc review 6 months a year pays better than that.
He’s a fool if he doesn’t go to Pace. never thought I’d type those words but it’s true.

thanks for the first real reply. yeah its the best school hes gotten into so far. he also wants to stay in NYC so he's limited to schools in the N.East.
that's kind of what i figured with the full ride at pace being a fairly low risk choice. a BS in bio with a low GPA isn't that marketable. realistically unless he goes back to school for a whole different set of skills he's looking at probably becoming a teacher or some kind of $30-50k crappy business/academic gig.
"Thing is, he’ll be outmatched at Fordham" - I wonder, how different are say the top 1-5% of the class at a shitty school like Pace compared to say Fordham's top 10-15%.

not very much.
in life sciences, (i.e. anda/biologics litigation/prosecution) they ant Ph.D. in these fields.
in EE/CS its still pretty easy to find a job even with a pace degree.
