I probably would go the traditional route if I were in a field like law, worked at a large corporation, etc. where your image is key, but I'm not so the way I do things is a bit different than how others do things.
As far as trust issues go, there are only 6-7 people who I've ever truly trusted 100%: my parents, grandparents, aunt/uncle. Outside of that, I'm not putting 100% confidence in anyone. By going the surrogate route, I don't have to worry about possible divorce, losing half my earnings, risking my IRA, having to give my wife part of my business in a divorce settlement, possibly losing custody of my kid, etc. Trust me, I've thought all this through. |
