Probably each committee, being mostly good SJWs, feels like they ought to have at least one "diverse" candidate. So there's half the winners right there, and since (according to Nicholas Kristof, see below) they don't coordinate, they have no way of knowing they've collectively overshot the mark, assuming they care.
