b) If they don't read them... why not. How is it not in the best interest of the company to read the applications. Are they that inundated with unqualified retards?
c) Slightly related - what role do all the race/disability/veteran status questions play? Of course they're mandated somehow but if they actually play a role in the hiring process (aside from the obvious racial diversity quotas and whatever) |

It's especially annoying given how much companies love to whine about shortages of skilled workers. |
