Stepford Wives, man.
Roles ultimately are just too tyrranizing on individuality. THink of those guys who never liked sports but preferred hair styling and such things. In a world dominated by "role realism" they'd be screwed, meritocracy would be undermined by forcing everyone to live up to foreign standards. It's like, imagine a world where a group of people 'x' would have aced the exams at 200 Main Street School, but unfortunately they actually just flunked out of 250 Main Street School (which has different exams), because that block on main street is zoned differently.
We can't do away with 'zones,' 'roles,' 'demographics,' and other partially man-made but ultimately indispensable things. But actually pushing them autistically like concentration camp wards, that's fucked up
