Why are Columbia UGs suicidal when most will be underemployed anyway?

columbia's one of the best feeders into wall street gigs given its location and alumni base. any major works for most finance gigs, i've seen history majors at goldman.
we just hired a junior for a summer internship and this person has 2 summers of hedge fund experience already, straight up skipped ibanking.
in fact, i'd bet that a comp sci degree from columbia is one of the best positions to be in as a 21-22 year old. you get the best of both worlds and can pretty much get any top quant or straight buyside pe/hf gig u want.
