it's a mobile dev position. So I'm already assuming the requisite platform and language-specific questions. Also basic DS stuff (probably hash tables). Also reviewing this painful doc : http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc7231.txt

Anything you'd ask a mid-level dev for this kind of role?

why are you reviewing the http rfc lol

since the point of hiring "mid-levels" is experience in an area make sure you know your shit for whatever mobile platform it is

I know my mobile shit. but at my last interview they asked me a bunch of server-stuff that I didn't know, even though I was really upfront that I was a mobile specialist. I don't want to get blown out again

its impossible to predict interviews for anything other than megacorps or unicorns (which tend to all pull from the same type of difficult questions and have lots of applicants so the interviews are posted everywhere). I interviewed at a place as a junior which asked me a bunch of specific asp.net core questions, said I didn't know anything about .net, then I got the job anyway.

why would you review rfc docs?? its like reading the actual legislation.. 90% of it is pretty useless.

usually i ask them what's their favorite programming language, then ask them to code something, and they're welcome to use google.
