In practice, how does a business go about accepting bitcoin?

Like, say you're designing a point of sale in a store or something. How would you set up a practical way to accept bitcoin?
Thanks

Same as credit card payments.
You pay a payment processors who handles all that shit for you, and you pay them a small fee, and you just recieve money in you rbank account.

I'm just saying script out the physical transaction.
Does the customer have to take out their smartphone at the checkout counter?
Or do they type in their personal key/code or whatever into an ipad at the point of sale?
