Writing about the scene, Glamour's Jill Gutowitz says, "This eerie display of the male gaze was gauche and left me feeling sticky." The Telegraph's Rebecca Hawkes also criticizes the movie's treatment of women is stuck in the past. At Digital Spy, Rosie Fletcher writes:

It's a fascinating and nightmarish subject for futuristic sci-fi—or rather would be if it was actually ever properly addressed. Instead the narrative belongs to the men alone, with the concept going unexamined that human women are being completely written out of history and replicant women are reduced to killing machines, baby machines and sex machines.

oh that one. there was also one when he is in the market and the hooker approaches him and you could see ppl having sex in the brothel so was confused

it was 180 just like everything else in the movie

btw I am MAF that the fags at Golden Globes completely shut out BR 2049. WTF. it was one of the most brilliantly shot movies i have ever seen in my life not to mention haunting and brilliant production design and set design

it completely blows dunkirk out of the water in every fucking way - cinematography , production design, sound etc

not sure how dunkirk got so many nominations. i thought only sound was awesome. even camera work was nothing great with the aerial battles repetitive and boring after a while

Dunkirk - good movie but seriously overrated; BR2049 - GREAT movie and seriously underrated

All the negative reviews are because they couldn't handle it's length... Don't you dare change the formula of 100-min readily digestible chink slop. We might have to slow down and think for once

until the instant when Ford is kidnapped and taken away from Las Vegas it was 10/10 and fucking 180. villenueve and the production designers did an incredible job.

it was then 170 for the last 20 mins bcos it became a regular hollywood contrived BS - secret rebel group uprising, sappy overwrought emotional scene with the fake rachel. would have completely cut out the fake rachel scene with harrison ford and jared leto. Instead would have added couple of more minutes at the start to explain leto's character and why replicant birth was such a big deal

dunkirk is an outstanding movie though, but blade runner 2049 is of course better. dont shit on dunkirk dude, its a fucking towering achievement as well.

it just lost steam towards the end. if you are going for such a visual film with literally no plot, screenplay, dialogue then you better make it completely outstanding and towards the end there was one too many shots of the same plane chase.

by modern hollywood standards its a 175 but lets be honest BR 2049 towers over it. and in 20 years just like the original people will be talking about BR 2049 as a masterpiece not Dunkirk
