If a normal GOP candidate without any baggage (say brooks) had run and for some reason DEMS/blacks were very energized and turned up even then GOP would win by 5~8%. That 5~8% disappeared for Moore due to his baggage (pedo allegations as well as other unhinged stuff) |

you are right that if GOP voters had shown up Moore would have won comfortably (~5% margin) despite the heavy black turnout. Under a normal GOP turnout black vote cant flip the seat. they could bring down the margin from 15%~20% to 6~8% thats all. but the problem (actually blessing imo) here is that a lot of the GOP voters stayed home or went for a write in candidate
its that simple |
