Would be 180 if Twitter just said, "Nope, no more Trump."

Maybe so maybe so I guess i'd just query how much having his gibberish on twitter ADDS to twitter ...
changes traffic--sure, some, but ... I don't know how that stuff is monetized. the people who are there are there anyway, and they'll move from one target to another for snark.
I think the more interesting analysis: a corporate question, besides the traffic question, should be along these lines: his twitter poasts fire up the retards to vote for him so we are enabling his shit. So long as his shit--policies, etc-- isn't directly harming Twitter Inc., and he's not being explicitly immoral, let him stay on. Query whether we Twitter Inc are setting ourselves up for a precedential assfucking down the road by keeping him on now, or whether we precedentially assfuck ourselves worse by kicking him off.

I assumed this thread was flame, dude.
Yes, twitter would get major lib kudos for a couple days after kicking DJT off their platform. DJT would go elsewhere -- likely creating a competitor service -- and their objectively priceless source of free advertising would disappear.
People don't start changing their natural consumption patterns -- which are formed in response to meeting their own needs and, over time, out of habit/addiction (thanks, xo) -- in order to reward a business that makes an ethical decision they golf-clap-level approve of. TRUMP haters -- i.e., ppl who dislike the President and believe that he should be deprived of his chosen, signature media outlet -- are the only consumer cohort that Twitter could possibly *gain* by doing this, and it would lose even them, because those people wouldn't have any reason to look at TRUMP tweets to stoke their anger / respond angrily to / jerk off to outrage porn.
Twitter's decision to boot DJT would, in my view, probably not be fatal to the company, but the fact that you honestly don't seem to understand that it would be a catastrophically *dumb* (if not just outright catastrophic) business decision -- akin to me slaughtering the golden-egg-laying goose that lives in my backyard for a one-time meal, because "hey, I make enough practicing law to where I don't need these golden eggs" -- really does suggest that you are low-intelligence.
I hope this response was sufficiently substantive for you, and I hope you at least consider the possibility that you are unintelligent. If you have been tested at a high-IQ, reflect on why it has failed to transfer into intelligent writing, business savvy, or any of the other normally IQ-correlative traits that you might want for yourself.

To be fair, I think I asked speculatively, to see what the pushback would be. No one has really articulated a reason other than some generalized claims about loss of advertising revenue or traffic changes, but I challenge the extent of that, and no one thus far has offered anything on that point other than their own opinion.
"TRUMP haters -- i.e., ppl who dislike the President and believe that he should be deprived of his chosen, signature media outlet -- are the only consumer cohort that Twitter could possibly *gain* by doing this, and it would lose even them, because those people wouldn't have any reason to look at TRUMP tweets to stoke their anger / respond angrily to / jerk off to outrage porn." Dumb comment. Really dumb, actually. Trump does plenty to enrage people even without his Tweet nonsense.

Yeah, but they're not expressing their outrage *on twitter*, at least not in nearly the same numbers, if that's not where TRUMP is making the initial statement. I'm sure you can compare the anti-TRUMP twitter activity after an average Sarah Huckabee Sanders press conference or DJT Rose Garden announcement to that of a TRUMP tweet.
I'm also sure you can find how much traffic DJT directly drives to the site, and, while I bet it's more than any other user by a wide margin, it's probably a tiny portion of twitter's overall traffic. You can also take all the twitter mentions in the news / on letterman / etc. over the past 3 years -- which refer to the company in a morally neutral fashion and solidify the outlet as not only the leader in its field, but as the place that POTUS uses to get his message out -- and convert those mentions to ad dollars. (Bear in mind that earned-media time is worth substantially more than paid-advertising time, because fewer ppl watch ads than the shows they interrupt, they pay less attention, and they're aware that the message conveyed is self-promoting.) Again, it's probably enormous but not company-breaking.
But the detriments of kicking TRUMP off your platform at this point are far higher than if he'd just never come on in the first place. He'd go elsewhere immediately -- unless your shitlib impeachment-level fantasy is that he'll pack it in and just carry on as a normal potus -- either to an existing service that has never fully competed in twitter's niche, like facebook, or to a new service that brands itself as a content-neutral alternative to twitter (like 8chan did with 4chan). In either event he'd almost certainly bring over an enormous number of followers from twitter to the new outlet, both (a) hurting twitter in the immediate sense, and, worse (b) building up a viable competitor for the years to come. And Twitter is not facebook; they're barely making ends meet as it is.
---
This thread, while not as retarded and obviously flame as the "twitter-banning TRUMP would violate the 1st amendment" one, should rightly be responded to by mocking you on a personal level and dismissing your content without comment. Unfortunately, i took the bait and now I'm here MAF and yelling at a retard.

The fact that "TRUMP is good for Twitter" is so fucking obvious that you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who denies it *and* who doesn't think they're promoting some avant-garde contrarian view (which would be based on stupid premises).
It is just a pain in the ass to organize your thoughts and writing to lay out all the different aspects of TRUMP's relationship with twitter from twitter's financial perspective. Kind of like when a 3-year-old wants to know why our town doesn't drive on the left side of the road and use red-means-go; you don't want to go to the trouble of laying out the history of these systemic-design choices and describing how, while the original rationales for them in the horse-and-carriage days may no longer be relevant today, the effect they have on consumer expectations justifies their continuation.
Especially not to a listener who you know at the front end, from his identity and from the nature of the question asked, is far too stupid to understand.

Query also: is twitter's access to nonpublic communications made by Drumpf a net gain for the company? Or a net loss? Does it open the door for international hacking in a way that undermines its own security?
Can Twitter now be co-opted by the executive branch in times the executive branch deems to be natural emergencies? Is this a good thing for the Company, or a Bad Thing?
Is Twitter undermined by the deliberate exchange of Fake News by Drumpf through his own twitter feed, particularly the kind of fake news designed to foster racial animosity and zenophobia?
I'm not so sure its a net positive for Twitter to have this shitheel making his comments on a regular basis. It's probably only a positive in the sense that Drumpf's captured market stays w Twitter rather than opening up on a new platform that would then grow Fake News and conturditry like a tumor.
