36, $300K annual income, single, ~$300-320K in silver mining stocks (it fluctuates), 240lbs of silver bullion (worth ~$70K right now), $40K in the bank. Own the same 2011 bimmer I've had since I leased it back in 2010.
If silver reaches $200 an oz, the stock portfolio will be worth $12M, and the bullion will be worth $700K. Someday... I still won't sell then (maybe a bit of it).

That's a pretty serious deviation from the standard G:S ratio range isn't it? I'm not a metals pro but I am interested in it.
I've built up a small amount of silver in order to swap for gold when the ratios get crazy - I probably should be swapping my gold for silver right now because its so cheap on a relative basis but IDK - hard to store physical silver.
Have you seen WPM? They are a more sophisticated way to get exposure to the silver mining without capital intensive stuff.
I think that in the near term $30 is attainable, and $50 in the long term is also doable. Anything past that - I just don't know.

WPM doesn't have the same upside as junior miners, but it's a safer investment, so it makes up a relatively significant portion of my portfolio. SILJ is the best way to go.
Silver demand is largely price inelastic since its substitution for other metals is limited and it's used in small amounts in electronics, so even if it hits $150, your average joe is just barely going to give it some attention, and businesses that use silver won't really be harmed much by the increase. Historically, it's been 15:1 because that's the ratio of abundance in the earth's crust, but, when demand picks up, the ratio will overshoot past that. Also, silver is consumed, so the readily available, above ground ratio is far less than 15 to 1. I'm sure you've heard of all these points if you're into investing in silver even a little, though.

Ya I have. I see what you are saying about the jr miners but fuck man - I've seen so many horror stories with jr miners it's just not worth it to me to take the risk but the upside is huge - you are right.
I have found that in my experience with Jr miners (gold, not silver admittedly) A lot of the losses arn't related to the resources in the ground - it's slippage that comes with corruption in the company, bad results from a few quickly punched holes, poor execution, political risk etc not to mention the ENDLESS FUCKING SHAREHOLDER DILUTION.
Do you own like a few dozen juniors?
I am aware of the depletion of silver stockpiles - similar to the Platinum situation. I think plat is probably the way I'd go right now because your all in cost at the cheapest mine is $1200 and its like ~900 an ounce if I recall - so the spread between those two prices is compressed at the rate of depletion in industrial activity.
I'm an equities guy - but lately I have diversified into metals and gemstones a bit (just in case some serious fucking shit goes down I like to know that I can put enough in my pockets and on my fingers/wrists to get like a year of breathing room outside of the US)

A few things:
-I spend less than 20k a year and save everything else.
-Investments have done well.
-Random XO giveaways allowed me to acquire several thousand dollars worth of crypto simply by hodling.
-I lived rent-free for my first year in DC which enabled some extra early saving.

Can’t discharge student loans.
But I’ve still thought about it. Want to keep it in the holster. My non-SL debt is only 5 or 6k. But I’m starting to rack up more CC debt since I’m unemployed.
Have a phone interview Friday. Don’t really meet their qualifications, but will spin best I can. At least it’s something. I’ve been getting outright rejected from everything for months.
