As an undergrad male, you have to be handsome (particularly to the gays) to be really successful in liberal arts academics. Oh sure, you can be brilliant, what have you, but you have to be handsome to get the profs to back you for the stuff that propels you to a career in academics. Its a homo mafia kind of thing. Most good schools have it. This is one of those things they should tell you in advance so you don't waste your time, and so you do the right things at the right time.

Undergrads (males in particular) should read this. Spend more time being sexy looking and attractive to the lazy liberal arts profs(particularly the males) and less time grade grubbing in dirty clothes and w poor "bro" hygiene. Dress well, stylishly, cultivate the "tall dark handsome" look that liberal arts professors on balance, are attracted to.

If you cannot, but you are nonetheless brilliant in a generic sense, go into STEM, where the homo mafia has much less sway and you can continue to be dorky up to a point well after your admitted to grad school, fully funded.

I was a philosophy major and dated a philosophy major chick. She was an objective 7 but a [my midwestern college redacted] 9.

Powerful professors threw themselves at this girl, offering TA positions, Grad school references, submitting her papers to journals, fawning over her in-class comments, etc.

White girls who are even a little attractive truly have the greatest privilege in the history of the world

That's why it need to be pulled down. Academia has been infested and debased just as it was in Ancient Rome

Tell me more about how it became debased in Ancient Rome?

Interesting.

But it's true. Honestly, in the English department, the guys who ultimately ended up being the stars were smart and knowledgeable, but not crazy brilliant. They were all of them very handsome, and some were also athletic. Their work was on trendy stuff for the most part, and they were very stylish dressers and good in appearance. Mostly relatively quiet in seminars, --again, did solid work but no wild flights of fancy or brilliant intuitive leaps. But they were handsome, and profs were quick to name them when the time came for honors or special benefits.

As I recall, the way I won my school's American Academy of Poets thing senior year was by hiding my name on the back side of my poems, so when they were photocopied my name would be hidden and the poems would speak for themselves. (In theory the staff was supposed to cover the students names typed out on the front pages of the poems so the professors' review of the submissions would be anonymous, but at that point I was savvy enough to know that they weren't going to bother with that sort of effort for an undergraduate competition, and that if I didn't do that the winners would ultimately be the pretty boys who always won in previous years and had grad school references in the bag and the professors liked them because they were handsome and bright.)

I was an Economics major ran into the same thing 10 years ago. I've always been an immigration hardliner (as should most Millennials, unless they truly desire a lifestyle inferior to that of their parents generation)

and that's not even a very subjective field well here we have the data average illegal makes $10/hr (don't know how this number could be known but was reasonably accepted) costs $24k. lol you have to be making over $100k a year to be paying that in taxes

this is true in pretty much any white-collar environment

being handsome and charming as a man makes it really, really easy to get people to do what you want in these kind of settings

I always did better when shit was anonymous. Big undergrad classes and standardised tests and shit.

Most Chads don't leverage their phenotypes and become gay poets though. The salience of phenotype is just evidence of what a sham the field is.
