if you're only an hour out of the city, the urban sprawl will eventually reach you and ruin your idyllic plans
the best spots for this plan are in the northwestern US imo |

That's what I'm afraid of. The nature of my work is that I can telecommute most of the time but need to be within reasonable distance of an urban center if I have to go in to the office.
I thought Western Mass might be perfect for this. |
