Most of those places are in the Mountain Time Zone, by the way.
Western Dakotas: Mount Rushmore, Black Hills, Sturgis motorcycle rally, badlands, oil rigs... yeah dude really Midwestern.
Eastern Nebraska: Crops. Western Nebraska: Ranches, droughts.
Western Kansas: Dodge City, the iconic Old West town.
