If we are talking about non ivy grads it's pretty difficult to get hired as full fledged engineer with just a physics or math bachelors degree nowadays, at least without significant extracurricular experience involving circuit design, cad modeling or programming.
Most of these types end up in IT, web dev, lab assistant or other fairly low level things.

why do engineering when you can just be a radiologist??
im sure radiology is easier than electrical, chemical or mechanical
