I would keep a beginner away from anything related to payments for a long time.

You'll want to master JavaScript first and learn at least the basics of internet/browser security.

i recently learned you can use apis in excel.

use =webservice(X) where X is a reference to a string containing an api URL you want to retrieve.

for instance, =webservice("https://api.coinmarketcap.com/v1/ticker/?limit=10") will pull the stats for the top 10 coins on coinmarketcap in json format
