Asian parents on verge of divorce due to shame of having a SHORT chile

They act like it's the end of the world to be short; I'm going to a top 10 university next year but they treat me like I'm worthless because I'll never be able to find a wife or family because I'm short.
Anyway, every meal they yell at me to drink milk even though I'm pretty sure I'm lactose intolerant, which is very common in Asian populations (I get stomach pain every single time I drink milk, and sometimes diarrhea). Ever since I was little they've been force feeding me food at every meal and they've taken me to China for weird pseudoscience treatments like pricking your fingers and squeezing out blood every day, drinking bitter herbal "height medicine", drinking the royal jelly of termites, and getting my brain scanned to see if I have some disorder, taking arthritis medication (I don't have arthritis) to "help bone growth", and a bunch of other crazy stuff. I'm 5'6 and a half.
I haven't grown in two years (I'm 18) and my doctor said I'm done growing but they refuse to believe that and keep blaming me for being short and yelling and cursing at me all the time. He regularly calls me the Chinese equivalent of a fucking piece of shit and says I'm a failure because I will never find a pretty wife (which I don't think is that important anyway?) And since he's tall and my mom's short, he blames her for my height and they're on the verge of divorce because of this, so my mom too is desperately trying to get me to grow to get my dad to shut up. Hence more force feeding and milk and shady medicines. We don't have any drinks but water and milk (she threatens to cut me off financially if I don't drink it), and she forces me to go to bed very early yet still expects perfect grades when I don't even have time to study. I'm still not growing an inch and they keep getting angrier. I feel like there's nothing I can do; they don't believe that height is genetic, they just think I'm at fault somehow, like I didn't "try" to grow or something. Am I just being a brat here, or is this actually not normal? Does anyone else have experiences like this?

I'm 2 inches taller than my dad and 6 inches taller than my mom, but they still complain about my height. I'm under 6ft, so I'm a height failure. I'm in my late 30's by the way.
I also had to drink a ton of milk growing up while being lactose intolerant. My body got used to it and eventually I could chug a quart in under 10 seconds. I had to chug a quart every day before I could leave the house. |
