Might not be worth the cost of keeping a car in MFH if you almost never drive it.

Just use Turo or Zipcar when you need one.

I know money isn't much of a concern for you, but it's bad for cars to sit that much without being driven. Rubber belts and hoses will get brittle and go to shit. Fluids will degrade. Fuel goes bad. Rodents start to view your car as a home and will start chewing on wires.

Now, maybe your car has survived OK so far. But IMO there isn't really any chance that your car is as pristine as the low miles would indicate.

Also, those era of Audis aren't exactly known for their reliability.

Time to dump it bro

Great car. Had a 2002 A6 2.7T until I traded it for a 2013 A6 3.0. Never had any significant maintenance issues until near the end, and that was just wear and tear stuff (timing belt, suspension components). New one tilts a bit too much toward luxury feel. 2013 has been completely trouble free so far. Don't know why Audi gets a bad rap on durability.

Here are some stats

According to carsalesbase.com, the 2003 BMW 5-series outsold the Audi A6 by a ratio of about 2.7:1 (46,964 vs 17,585)

As a proxy to figure out how many of these might still be on the road, I went on Autotrader.com to see how many are currently for sale. In the whole country, there are 84 '03 5-series for sale versus 14 '02 A6s. That's a ratio of about 5.9:1

2003 bimmers aren't exactly beacons of reliability to begin with with, so it is absolutely NUTS that the Audis are evidently that much more unreliable

I was curious about my numbers, so I rant the numbers again with the scope of model years expanded to the length of when their respective generations overlapped. The results are *even worse* for Audi.

The Audi A6 (C5/4B) overlapped with the BMW E39 5-series from 1997-2003

BMW outsold Audi over that period by 1.78x

The number of that era of BMWs exceeds Audi by 4.31x on Autotrader right now

The average asking price for the BMWs is a lot higher too ($5,700 vs $4,200)

Don't see how your data support this conclusion. Perhaps Audi owners are happier with their cars and are not offering them for sale. Just because a car is not listed for sale does not mean it is no longer running. Am I missing something?
