Person explained in their cover letter why they are doing non-legal work, how the JD helps them in the industry, and they have a clear path from their pre-LS work to post-LS work that makes sense, so the JD actually serves as a positive credential in this case rather than an albatross, since I at least believe OK this person has some ability to read, write, think, and use that in the daily job

interviewing another JD next week but they're really fucking hot so that's all in that case
