ive only really been to east africa. if you're an animalmo, east africa is 180. tanzania has the serengeti / great migration, ngorongoro crater, mt kili. rwanda and uganda have the gorillas (expensive as fuck but worth it) and chimps.

Kenya & Tanzania to see big 5

It depends on when you go - each month dictates which country is best to see and everyone who has been to africa said you will always want to go back to africa.

do your research cuz you cant do africa solo.

Devils pool can only be done at a certain time of year.

Already been to DAT Devils Pool. Went to Zambia/Zimbabwe to do that and see the falls, did Safari in Botswana and saw the big 5. I went to Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar, but not the rest of Tanzania, Egypt twice, Morocco once and South Africa a few times.

Just booked a trip that will take me back to Cape Town as well a Accra, Sao Tome and Namibia (Namib Desert, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Windhoek). Looking for other ideas.

Is there a reasonable way to get to Socotra without having to transit Sana'a?

YES. but it's expensive as fuck. there are charter flights and/or cruises that leave from the UAE. seems like the charter flights are around $1000+ these days.

YPT runs a cruise.
