Associates are culled for performance and numbers are boosted by strategic hires. Classes are nowhere near as big as they used to be. |

So if everyone is hiring 1/2 to 1/3 as many as they used to, that means if you lay people off there aren't exactly tons of people waiting in the wings to replace them.
