Euros HATE Americans more than any other nationality.
Canadians can't stomach the thought of being around Americans.
And Americans themselves hate each other so much, they kill themselves from the tender age of 16 in their own high schools.
So what's wrong with this country of bullies? Why is it such a fucked up country and culture? Being a super power isn't enough to be a great place, as a group, Americans are hated world-wide and are the laughing stock of the entire world, especially now with our not-so-normal president.

almost all legal immigrants are middle class and above in their home countries and mostly UMC/rich.
its only the illegals who are poor. and no they dont come to meet non americans or bullshit like that. the first generation tends to live among their own type just like the swedish/norwegian/irish/italian immigrants did. the second and third generation just diffuse into american society based on class
there are lot of problems with america BUT 1) we are in a better position than 99% of the countries in the world 2) people hating us is exaggerated and not a big deal |

My folks lived overseas for a long time - we're talking a decade to two decade gap out of the US (I lived overseas when I was young) and coming back to America for my folks and me as well was a crazy culture shock.
In the past few years, my Boomer parents confessed to me that they didn't know what happened to this country after they left - but something caused it to go really south from a cultural perspective WRT to business and opportunism.
They left in the late seventies/early eighties period and came back in the late nineties and they confessed that all the advice/pointers they gave me when I was in college/applying for law school (they forced me to apply and briefly attend) was outdated and they were dismayed that they didn't know how to help their kid but they didn't have the courage to tell me at the time that they didn't know what to make of this society and didn't realize or want to tell me at the time that their advice and experience was useless for me.
A lot of boomer responses to issues or problems basically involve "cross your fingers and hope!" - it is sad to see their naivete get ridden upon roughshod now. |
