So much ridiculous rhetoric too. Very bloody and graphic. 'What will it take, laying out the bloody bodies of our children on the National Mall? When will we listen to reason on assault weapons!??!?!??"
It goes without saying that if you were to ask them, as some do, what they think banning assault weapons means. Then they are forced to admit that they just mean 'scary looking guns.' Inevitably they will roll around to 'just fucking ban them all and we'll be like Europe.' Then six months goes by and another shooting. In the meantime, their outrage and commitment to on-the-ground advocacy seems to lack efficacy.
There are a fair number of men doing this too, but they try to take this punchier, resigned outrage approach. They don't rant about children as much, which is not to say they aren't equally stupid. The men are annoying but it's more obviously virtue signaling or some kind of fleeting need to demonstrate their civic engagement. Women seem to really buy into their moral and political angst, however fleeting. |

Libs like to play this game where the game is to ban pickup trucks, and they start by saying let's ban full size Dodge Ram crew cabs. Obviously there are plenty of other trucks on the market for truck lovers, and why does any private citizen need a 5000 pound gas guzzler. How could you be against that? Then, it's on to the next one - since the Dodge Ram crew cab is illegal, why is it that truck mongers can get around the law by purchasing full sized crew cab trucks from other manufacturers. They're skirting the law! Presumably, using this incremental approach, one day the goal of outlawing private truck ownership can be achieved, or at least change culture enough to where a federal court will do the heavy lifting for you (as almost happened in Heller).
It sucks that we have to go through this exercise, because truthfully, I would probably be fine with banning all sorts of categories of firearms; however, the ultimate goal is the outlawing of private gun ownership. That is an unacceptable result. |

Fine, great. The sensible crowd has a Clinton-era compromise mindset even though they're largely drawn from more strident modern-era shitlibs, so they're often scared to suggest that outlawing semi-auto. Extremely controversial and dubiously effective suggestions like that would at least generate some actual policy discussion. Instead they cleave onto the idea that the boogie man of 'assault weapons' is the root problem.
If you ask them privately they'll crazily demonize all gun owners. But on social media it's 'assault weapons' and 'gun culture,' which is just code for rural white people and the South. |

It's just way too easy to get a hold of an AR and the amount of damage it can do with zero barrier to entry is just too much imo. A bomb requires a certain level of knowledge to produce and carries a risk of malfunction. Guns wielded by Losers kill people with extreme efficacy.

When you're trying to regulate something it actually is essential that you have at least *some* level of understanding wrt the underlying technology. Otherwise you end up doing retarded things like trying to ban individual weapons based on how they look vs. how they function.
