Nobody knows exactly why this is the case. Only a handful of long-time posters have escaped it and they still have their foils. Earl and diesel have a few relentless critics no matter what they do. Even an almost universally beloved and unique figure like beckerstead has a few people who ardently insist that he's human garbage. Jim Kelly has the toxic 'dork' label but I think his life outcome ultimately either hits too close to home or its far beyond the grasp of his critics who then lash out with bitterness when they smell contemntment. The fact that he seems content with a life that they can lazily characterize as ALL WRONG MOVES based on some hilariously contrived XO set of virtues causes them to push even harder.

It's typical of XO that few ever picked up on this guy's greatest vice: he's a hardcore 'glory days' sentimentalist who loves to hold forth on what a great young man he was and what a 180 red-blooded all-American young cunnus slayer he was. He would trip all over his chinos rushing into threads about high school poon and college antics despite borderline acknowledging that he's on the goober side of the spectrum. Then in the same stroke he professes sincere appreciation for his quiet GC grind of life with his mixed-race family. I believe him and there is absolutely nothing wrong with what this guy has set up for himself. A quiet life providing for your wife and kids is held out as the masculine ideal by this place but in reality XO won't tolerate it. But the tension between him drooling over youth and insisting he's as good as he can be as he approaches his 40s is the truly ripe ground for criticism.

But he married an Asian chick and lives in an expensive coastal area, so the pumos will thoughtlessly RAGE until he is broken. He's a broad target, plain and simple.

Most of XO consists of people who hate their lives and wish that they could go back to their prole home towns and marry prole women there. Why? Because this is the opposite of what they actually did, so in their minds it must be better.

Jim_kelly is somebody who left his prole hometown to work for GC in San Francisco, married another GC professional of a different race, and...is unapologetic about any of it. He routinely talks about how leaving Buffalo is not only defensible, but CR. In short, he does not hate himself, and XO hate him.
