"epigenetics" BTFO by actual science. again. care to explain, libs?

"These findings suggest that promoter DNA methylation is not generally sufficient for transcriptional inactivation, with implications for the emerging field of epigenome engineering"

you know how mendel and lamarck had that fight about how giraffes got their long necks?
mendel said selection pressures favored giraffes whose DNA gave them long-necks
lamarck said giraffes stretched their necks during their lifetimes to reach higher food, and then passed that stretching on to their offspring
epigenetics is basically a scientific attempt to legitimize lamarck's theory.

CpG strands (cytosine-guanine in a certain configuration) are heavily represented at promoter sites where DNA transcription gets gakked out.
since dna transcription appears to be associated with these cpg islands--unmethylated cpg is uncommon but overrepresented at transcription start sites--gene expression appears to be suppressed when you dont have cpg because cytosine has been methylated (just meaning it has a methyl group thrown on that bitch). the methyl group is supposed to inhibit gene expression by blocking transcription factor proteins from binding to the cytosine.
this methylation of cytosine in cpg leading to genes being "turned off" is a major proposed mechanism of "epigenetics"--you know, changing your heritable phenotype by leaning in against DNA totalitarianism through gene regulation or whatever.
.
this study makes it look like correlation without causation----because they tried to forcememe methylation at promoter sites to stop DNA transcription and it didnt work (they succeeded in forcing methylation, it just didnt repress gene expression)

libs: "muh epigenetics"
science: ?
so you can see why epigenetics suddenly became popular with people who dont know or follow biology at all: it was a way out of biology and toward causal power going back where it belongs--in the hands of social engineers.
this is from a leading economist at the university of chicago:
"Referring to this account of the interaction of nature and nurture, James Heckman writes
The field of epigenetics surveyed in Rutter (2006) demonstrates how genetic expression is strongly influenced by environmental influences and that environmental effects on gene expression can be inherited (emphasis added).
He then argues that there is evidence
that high quality early childhood interventions foster abilities and that inequality can be attacked at its source."
So he's arguing that you can become more intelligent by going to a top pre-school AND that your children can inherit this improved iq. its almost elegant how one can be staggeringly wrong on so many things at once and even be willing to throw out a major field of science if it doesnt fit his (incorrect) ideas.
all we need is mo money for dem programs run by intellectuals and dna is done here!

tbh its not interesting at all.
libs are just literally insane anti-science nutjobs.

was listening to dr rhonda patrick talk about epigen...apparently studies showed that a rat who was obese at the time of conception had a greater chance of obesity in the offspring...
so basically, if you're going to have a kid, make sure you and wife are in the best shape of your lives at conception

why couldn't you do crossover?
have normal rat mom have kids
make rat mom fat, have kids
do this with big n
or better yet, use rat clones

the epigenetics flame is still being pushed by the lib "science" machine
if anything, support for it has gotten stronger, even as more and more evidence appears that shows it's bogus
