and as the pumo above noted, the old system was really just like a reg season + playoff. i don't see how that's any different than the Patriots crushing the Jets twice in the regular season with a much better record to boot and then losing to them by a point in the divisional playoff.
now i'm with you that i tend to prefer a holistic evaluation, but certainly the old system was similar in many ways to a lot of sports. |
