When the comish business went from dollars to pennies, traders who by then had gotten to higher levels at banks were stretching to take risk and eventually led to debacles like the 2008 financial crisis.
You basically had an entire generation that never had it so easy rise to the ranks of upper management in a period that spanned between lets say 1985 and 2005 and proceeded to spend the next decade an a half flailing about helplessly as much of their ill gotten gains vaporized.
