Uber Scheduled Rides Is A Bait & Switch Scam. Just Disputed Charges

Date: March 5th, 2018 11:49 AM Author: heady home yarmulke did uber scheduled rides for the first time ever. booked the ride for 30 mins before i needed it. quoted price was $22. i took screenshots just to make sure bc i wasnt sure if i'd get fucked in the ass with some kind of surge bullshit. sure enough, final price came out to $68. no prior notice of any surge, nor did i agree to any.
emailed uber support and rajeesh is incoherent and gave me a uber credit of 25% of the ride, and i'm still bitching to them.
also disputed the charges with amex.
this sounds like a good class action suit. |

They also sold subscriptions and guaranteed that as long as surge pricing didn't exceed $35 you would get a flat rate. As soon as I signed up, whaddya know, my regular $18 commute was suddenly $45. |

scheduling to get a particularly good price, or guaranteeing the car arrives right at a particular time are the only reasons i can see to use that feature. and it did neither.
i disputed, they refunded. |

USPS 2x contested a $21 charge for me, and they're more akin to uber than airbnb in transactional volume and per transaction $ amounts. i've done a lot of disputes (trust me), and some companies just let shit slide and others fight it and i dont think there's always a way to put logic to it.
what's worst is when a company just doesnt fight the dispute and sends you to collections. |
