I had a marriage like Thunder Collins' til ONE WEIRD TRICK saved it.

Every day when my wife comes home I'm waiting for her, ready to read her a different romantic poem each day.

Try it!

I told my wife the lyrics of "If we were vampires" and she teared up, didn't scream at me for a whole week.

protip: Pablo Neruda has some good ones. Recite them in English, then if she digs it, the next time read it in the original Spanish. She will be soaked.

edit: this is a good one https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/49236/one-hundred-love-sonnets-xvii

first time I heard it is in the movie Patch Adams when Robin Williams reads the last stanza at his murdered gf's graveside, heartbreaking shit. I recently picked up a nice-sized book of Neruda's stuff with Spanish on the left pages and English on the right with matching lines, makes it super easy to read and understand in both languages, pretty awesome. He was very, very skilled.

Compare to the current state of "poetry" LJL
