different population groups follow gradients in all kinds of characteristics, including "emergent" or second/third/etc.-order characteristics arising from more basic characteristics. ie, something like "capacity to maintain an advanced civilization" is not itself a genetic characteristic, but rather, a function of "smaller" population traits like time-preference and so on.
combining unlike or disparate population groups into the same democratic polity (as we have done in the US) is the source of all manner of grief.
all of my close or longtime friends know this stuff, to the extent they have cared to discuss such things at all. none of my co-workers do. |

so, i don't have a great deal of hope. other measures like scrapping affirmative-action in federal hiring and eliminating doctrines like "disparate impact" from federal enforcement are not even matters of active discussion.
the overclass thing is partly a function of immigration. whenever any society has imported or had an influx of groups with higher median IQ than "the natives," then you have controversial economic disparities. just look at the chinese in indonesia or malaysia. |
