It depends on the asset in question.

If you know what the assets are and they produce a stream of earnings (or rent), yes.

Even in some cases where something does not produce anything, but lets say it costs $30 to produce a barrel of Oil - anything below $30 less costs of storage is a good thing to average down on. Same thing with a ton of Copper or an ounce of Gold where there is consistent demand.

It all goes back to demand for the good in question or ability to produce.

Now in the case of cryptocurrency...

it depends - from my look at BTC and ETH's chart, they are at a post euphoria phase in the bubble - this is where there is a slow bleed until everyone who was swept up in the mania sells (sort of like post-crash Nasdaq)

Now, during this phase one of two things happens: The asset in question collapses and drops to nothing due to the lack of demand

OR

Real innovation begins to occur and sustainable and tangible growth starts to happen. During this period in 2001-2003 or so you could have acquired Amazon, Priceline and Cisco to name a few companies which had been ludicrously overpriced during the bubble phase for a bargain, and if you held made life changing long term money

ty extrmely CR

ill give you the crypto space is 99% shite, so im consolidating everythign into value investments right now or into Nodes that are essentially bi monthly dividends

the problem as you touched upon is the mania did not allow for bottom price discovery for the shitcoins and/or most people have amnesia with the historicla bottoms of BTC/ETH

im just gonna average down the "winner" im consolidating for now and then killself if i lose everything in 6 months

That strategy makes sense but be warned that it is still extremely risky due to the nature of crypto
