Date: March 19th, 2018 11:59 PM Author: Adulterous lemon tattoo was when i realized *anything* in our lives is a fit subject to be transmuted into a transcendentally beautiful feeling, simply by reflecting on it in the right way, and giving it great dignity in our minds, while not saying anything about it verbally. just letting it occupy a privileged space of reverie/contemplation, so that it opens itself to you in its mystery, in wordless eternity. i got this idea after i looked at a particular book of art photography. the images were of such prosaic things, but they were so beautiful that you could look at them for hours, and fall into a trance. afterwards, the feeling stayed with me for like a year, so that the *whole world* suddenly seemed one enormous, boundless object of fathomless beauty. i could spend a whole week staring at a simple object, like a rug that had been manufactured in the year of my birth, contemplating that fact. |
