Most important "conservative" idea is that societies do not PROGRESS

This idea, that we are progressing, is so ubiquitous and dogmatic that it's almost hard to step outside of it. I think even the most ardent conservatives sometimes fail to eschew it.
But once it is accepted as a given, shitlibbery is built to win every argument. Once exposed and examined, however, it crumbles immediately. Why on earth would it be true that human society is progressing? Without pulling a switcheroo and talking about technology, how could anyone make any case that any society is better because it came later?
Conservatives need to talk about this non-stop. |

Though that rests on postmodern principles most cons would not believe are true. Most cons think progressive "progress" is a net bad, ie not progress, which means they believe comparisons are possible. |
