You need a "good work history" if you're coming from an area where lots of people apply from (eg finance).
You're better off applying with some wierd but shitty work history to a T6 than to apply from something like finance.

IMHO, no point in doing military if you're not infantry, SOF or flying something. Here are the available MOS for Marines:
