It was so amazing. After years of anticipation and hand-wringing and wondering about the fate of Captain Phasma, to finally see her on the big screen again in Last Jedi was crazy. My whole theater went nuts. First people gasped, then they erupted into excited applause, then they held in breathless silence while watching Phasma and Finn in their exciting battle to the death. When Phasma eventually fell, there was a hush across the audience, but then you could feel a kind of cathartic release, as if we all knew that even though she was gone, she'd given us so much that we couldn't be angry. It was right.

Was that the same at your showing?

huge cheer went up. but, truth be told, it was only half the cheer that went up when we finally got to see Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo -- after all the backstory and anticipation, she was everything we'd hoped for.

oh for sure. I'm not even daring to say that the enthusiasm for phasma or any character matched that as the audience showed for Holdo. I know some people who can't even discuss Holdo without getting emotional.
