regarding modernity, i think it depends on how you define it, but in the sense that it's used by guys like xo ted or julius evola, then yes i think the story of empty masculinity is a consequence of modernity

i don't think mailing bombs to technological innovators is a good idea. i don't really know what we should do, but i think jordan peterson is on to something by calling on people to "speak the truth (or at least not lie) and accept the consequences". for now, it seems like it would be a good outcome to make it through the mess of modernity with your integrity intact (e.g., without having to lie, deceive, or otherwise warp reality to satisfy some passing material impulse). i think we don't know who we are, but if we listen to and behave in accordance with our conscience, then over time we can *see* who we are based on how our actions manifest in the real world
