The scientific discoveries of the 1400s would have been made in the 400s.
Christianity put human scientific progress back 1000 years, this is not flame.
Don’t even get me started on the damage ursury laws, etc did to capital markets in post Christian Europe — it retarded the continent for literally centuries

(Guy who’s starting to connect the dots)
Rome’s collapse was due, in large part, to the rise of Christianity.
Once Europe lost its culture and Rome fell, there was no group capable of providing the continent with stable and efficient government, and the people themselves were set adrift with a new religion and without the social institutions which had been the basis of European societies for millennia. The results were predictable: centuries of regression, paranoia, and religious extremism

no I'm saying persuasiveness -/-> merit.
Where have I written anything to suggest a belief that Christianity is/was entirely without merit?
(Hint: the answer is nowhere, and you're out of your depth)

I think historians favor an explanation that northern China had the raw materials to support an industrial revolution, but was too close to barbarians to support infrastructure investments. (In fact I think northern Chinese people did experiment with coal but stopped after barbarians invaded through the north).
As a response to invasions, Chinese society centered itself in the southern half of the country, and it’s people didn’t have the resources to stimulate investments in mines and use of coal that industrialization required.
My explanation is that Greco Roman culture is inherently superior to those of the far east
