I read Liar's Poker one time and didn't get much out of it. I've quoted from Monkey Business: Swinging Through the Wall Street Jungle a few times, that's a fun read. I also enjoyed Riding the Bull: My Year in the Madness at Merrill Lynch. That's more of a downbeat or pessimistic story though, the author ended up getting fired. There was a review on bn.com, long since gone, from someone who worked with the author at ML and says he knew he wasn't going to make it 'cos he didn't have enough of a killer instinct.

"Barbarians at the Gate" and "Den of Thieves" are the two best books in the genre, imo.

Too Big to Fail is not as fun, but more recent and still really good.

I also enjoyed a fictional book, i.e. novel, called Bombardiers, by Po Bronson. Two things I remember: a guy on the trading floor stroking his bald head while looking at a female, not realizing other people noticed and were laughing at him, and a woman who got fed up and took a garbage bag and dumped the contents of her desk in it before walking out. Later another woman made the mistake of announcing she was quitting, and a security guard prevented her from taking anything useful with her. A reviewer on Ama criticized the author for "bashing" the securities industry, lol.
