State DA vs. Personal Injury Firm in 2nd Tier City

Assume firm is around $100k all in with minimal bennies and DA is $60k with good bennies and pension if he stays for decades. He's passionate about the law. Would probably live with long term GF who will get biglaw. My thinking is DA has more preftige, but firm may have better advancement and exit oops. Similar workload. I had a friend that did criminal defense and some PI. He'd just chill in the court hallways with a suit and ppl would approach him. Sometimes it's just making yourself available. He's done pretty well for himself now that he no longer has to do that. |
