We calculate the profitability index by dividing profits per partner by revenue per lawyer.
Our value per lawyer metric demonstrates how much, on average, each of a firm’s lawyers contributes to total partner compensation. On average, value per lawyer for the Am Law 100 increased 4 percent, up from 2.4 percent in 2016.

High revenue per lawyer is usually a sign of health, but it is harmful on that ratio. Also seems like you should be able to derive a weird SI unit there, not just a ratio...
